New Year's Eve

Today we started off the New Year with a party. We let Matthew invite four friends over for a sleepover. It is the first year that we have let him stay up to do the countdown to the new year. The boys all arrived around 7pm. We feed them homemade pizza. The boys chatted a lot about Lego's. Matthew was quick to show them his new star wars Lego's, he had gotten for Christmas. The boys then played in the basement. They played the wii, air hockey, basketball shoot and watched Clones Wars followed by Space Chimps.

With minutes to go to the New Year, the boys came upstairs and banged pots and pans together to welcome in the New Year. It took me until 1:30am to get them all settled down and into bed. After I had gotten into bed, Aidan knocked on my bedroom door and said, "We're scared downstairs in the basement." I came down and moved them all to the family room on the main floor. They seemed much more happier being just a little closer to Ryan and I. They stayed up talking for a quit awhile. I finally feel asleep around 2am.

The boys got up super early and went downstairs to play the wii. When we woke up, we made Crepes for breakfast. Strawberry Crepes and Powder sugar Crepes, YUMMY! Zach had never had them before and all of the other boys wanted him to try them. The boys devoured them. I think Ryan made three batches.

After breakfast the boys disappeared into the basement again to play. They all got along rather well together. Around noon Ryan took all the boys home. Matthew had a fun time. Christopher enjoyed running around with his big brother. The boys were so good with my two little ones.

We spent the rest of New Year's Day being lazy. Ryan and I enjoyed playing the wii with the boys. Along with a little basement football with Christopher and Matthew. I enjoyed a little wrestling match with Thomas and Joshy. It is nice to have those calm days when we can just enjoy each others company and stay in our PJ's all day.
I say we had a lazy day...Yet I was able to get almost all of the laundry done, which was no small task. Considering the huge piles of clothes that covered my bathroom floor. Ryan also got the outside Christmas lights taken down and put away.
