Friday's field trip, the boys and I invited some friends to go to Downpour which is a local Water park. The last time I had gone was when Matthew was Joshua's age and Christopher was Thomas' age. I like this water park because it isn't a huge water park. I like that even though I am in the kiddie section with the younger kids I can still see the bigger pool and water slides.
Matthew and his friend Zachary went to the big slides and spent the day going down the two big water slides. They kept checking in with me throughout the day. They had a blast racing each other down the slides. It was nice for Matthew to have someone his age to go off and hang with instead of having to stay in the kiddie section with his brothers.
Christopher had fun swimming all around the smaller kid section. He loved going down the two slides in that section. His highlight came at the end...He was just 2" short for the big slides which were where Matthew and Zachary had spent the day. The lifeguards switched on the big slide and Matthew started to notice that smaller kids were getting to slide down the slide. He quickly ran over and asked if Christopher could go down them. We all walked over and decided to give it a try. Sure enough the lifeguard let him go down the slide. He did AWESOME! In all of the excitement I forgot to tell him what to do when he got to the bottom of the slide. His first time down he didn't know where to swim to when he hit the water. The lifeguard ended up having to help him because he was swimming against the water slide current and wasn't going anywhere. After he got out and I told him what to do next time. He quickly hurried back up to do it again. It was fun to see Matthew's excitement to see his brother doing the big slides.
Joshua loved the water, although he wasn't so sure of the tube slides. He loved running through the water fountains and sliding down the wave slide.
Thomas enjoyed the kiddie wave slide. He would climb up the four stairs, sit at the top and then slide down on his belly, feet first into the water. He would then walk to the edge of the pool and climb out and do it all again. Thomas has no fear of the water. He loves to submerge his face in water. Three times he made it to the top of the playground and tried to get into the tube slides. I was able to recruit Matthew and a friend's older son to take him down a couple of times.
We had a great day and the boys are already asking when can we go again.
