Ryan's Birthday

Monday we celebrated Ryan's birthday. A tradition in our family is for the birthday person to chose a restaurant to eat at. Ryan's choice was Benihanas. It is a Japanese restaurant were they cook the food right at your table. The restaurant was a good experience for my boys. I do have a couple of extremely picky eaters. I warned them ahead of time that no matter what they had to try the food. If their dad asked them if they liked it they had to say, Yes. I didn't want Ryan to feel bad about his choice of restaurant.

I must say that I was very proud of my boys! We all enjoyed watching the chef cook our food right at our table. He was very talented. He would throw the ingredients up into the air and he would juggle different utensils, it was entertaining to watch him. The boys especially loved eating with chop sticks. The boys all did extremely well in trying the new food. They must of liked it because two of the boys whose birthday's are next month are wanting to go back.

The boys and I SPOILED Ryan with our presents this year. We were so excited to see his reaction that we couldn't wait until we got home, so Ryan opened his presents at Benihanas.

Ryan is such an INCREDIBLE husband and father. The boys and I are richly BLESSED to have him in our lives.

Ryan's sister sent him a newspaper article about his birth. Click on the image to read.

What a fun article to have about his birth! But how is he the 8th grandchild on one side if he is the 9th child? I'm really trying to figure that one out.

It sounds like Ryan's lucky number in life should be nine. I agree with Ellie - that is something fun to have that not everyone has.

Did you like Benhianas? We haven't been there yet.

Yes, 9 is definately my lucky number. There are a couple more the article didn't catch. LDS hospital borders 9th Ave in SLC. I was born into the Kaysville 9th Ward.

Benihanas was good, although a bit pricey. I would recommend going for lunch, which is only served on weekdays.

Hey girl, great thoughts and pics on your family. Wow, cute group. Congrats!! I still remember those drives up together to visit Ryan in Logan, as you were head over heals for this guy; so glad you still are. :)
Take care.

Wasn't ryan in room something or other nine? and doesn't the nine thing continue with your children? Matthew born on the ninth in 1999 etc. So I wonder what will happen for you in 2009? :O)

Happy late birthday to Ryan. I just have to comment and say Christopher is looking so big and toothless. Miss you all.
