Ryan is such a handy guy which is one of the things I love about him. When Ryan was a young boy, he would open his Christmas presents. While his dad was reading the instructions of How to put the toy together, Ryan was busy putting it together and usually had it put together before his dad had figured it out. Also when Ryan was little he loved to take things apart. He still, to this day enjoys getting into things and figuring out how they work. Needless to say, very rarely does he read an instruction manual and when things break he loves to tear into it.
Matthew is a lot like his dad. He loves to work with his hands and figure things out. Tonight after the younger kids were in bed, Ryan taught Matthew how to change the brake pads on his car. Ryan taught Matthew how to take off one of the car tires. Then Matthew went to the other tire and using what he had learned from his dad, was able to take off the tire all by himself. I don't even have a clue how to change a tire! I learned once, but I have never had to change a tire so I have forgotten all I have learned. I also think now days if I was to get a flat tire, I would just pick up my cell phone and call my dear sweet husband to my rescue. I was telling Matthew that some day he is going to make one girl very happy because he will be just as handy as his dad is. I of course got that "Oh, MOM!" So for now, I will just be a very proud mom! I'm glad I have four sons that some day can grow up to be just like their dad.

WOW!! That is soooo Cool! I can't change a tire either and always call someone else when I need help. Maybe next time I will call Matthew! The funny thing in my family is that Bill's dad was a carpenter/construction worker his whole life...built their house and Bill has not one little bit of talent when it comes to stuff like that. I think however, that the gene skipped a generation b/c Bobby is my mechanical one....when he was a year old, he took all of the vents off of our house with a screw driver, just to see what was in them and then put it back. Bobby always has the stuff figured out before Bill does. Funny!
That is so fun! What a great skill to learn Matthew. It will save you lots of money one day too. Learn lots from your Dad!
So cute. I love those father/son moments! Ryan is a great Dad.
I love you Shauna and I love seeing Matthew fix the brakes every day...but it's time for an update! :O) hehehe
